Where are all of these new followers coming from? I’m surprised you guys are following me considering the lack of recent posts D: (which by the way I’ll be putting out some new pictures soon) But really, where?
Hello, how did you make the hair for your Auto Responder cosplay? Are there any advices you could give someone who's desperately trying to "build" something like that?
This is the original tutorial for the hair. Some additional comments since I recently remade the hair: trying to make craft foam mimic hair is difficult. Keep an eye on the flow of the pieces to make it look as natural as possible. Glue as little as you can get away with. It makes it easier to fix mistakes. You’ll probably have to pull up at least a few “hair” pieces. Pricing: $4-6 craft foam, $6 spray paint, cheaper than a wig and lasts longer, but time consuming to make. It took me about 4-5 hours straight. Best of luck! (one of these days I’ll make a picture tutorial…)
Where did you get your craft foam? I've never used it before and I'm quite curious. The way you used it on your Brobot cosplay looks amazing, and I'm curious about using it for the wings on my Davesprite cosplay.
I get craft foam from whatever craft store is closest to me at the time. Micheals, AC Moore, and other craft stores usually have craft foam. It’s a pretty popular material for kid’s crafts. I’ve actually been making craft foam wings and it’s worked pretty well for me so far, so it’s definitely an option for you.
Yes! I’ll be there! If you’re looking for photos though, I might disappoint. I’ve lost some of the joy that used to come to me when I photographed cosplayers, so I won’t be taking as many pictures this year. It’s just not as fun anymore.
hey I'm sorry for bugging you but on the brobot cosplay (awesome cosplay btw) what did you use for the hair and stuff because I need to make wings for my cosplay and i dont know what to use (sorry again if im annoying you!)
I used craft foam for the entire cosplay (and thank you). I use craft foam in practically all of my costumes because I can’t sew for shit, and I’ve actually used it to make feathers for wings. It actually works pretty well I think.
Holy shit where did all of these notes and followers come from? Gosh! Well, sorry I haven’t been terribly active! I’ve been out of the country for break and there was terrible wifi so I wasn’t paying too much attention to my tumblr ^^’
Sorry I haven’t been answering asks! I’m terrible about answering things. I’ll try to get around to them though .3.
hey ^_^ I was wondering for your lil hal cosplay what did you use to draw the lines and the heart and did you do it while you were wearing it or layed flat on a table? by the way yours is so perf!! thanks! :D
Aww gosh thanks for the compliments! ^u^ For Lil Hal I used puffy paint. You can usual find it in craft stores with all the clothing paint. It has a small tip which makes it easy to make lines with, but for larger areas like the heart I put on big globs and used a paintbrush. Having it flat on a table was easier to do since it takes hours to dry.
I have seen you alot on the Funimation Channel. You are on random POP segments. TBH you actually made it worth watching. It was a bit difficult in finding out who you were as i will admit i have never heard of homestuck. I actually looked it up just from my interest in fining out who you were. Are there more images of your work? I see have many photos of others as photography is your thing lol.
Ah yes that was fun. I never did end up finding the footage though. And wow you actually went out of your way to find me? I’m quite flattered! If you’re looking for more of my cosplays this is my cosplay tag though none of them really top my Brobot cosplay.
Hi! I was wondering for your brobot cosplay, did you put rivets on your face? And if you did, what kind of makeup or prosthetics did you use?
The rivets are actually painted on! I used acrylic paint since it was something I already had, though sometimes I used black face paint. Any paint will do really.
So you know the caps on eyeliner that protect the nibs? It’s a small and perfect circle. I just dip it into the black paint and dab it on my face. Then I dab the non-pointy bit of a safety pin (or any available bent metal really) into white paint and dab that on. It makes a small curved shine, giving the illusion that the rivet is real. :D
Hello there! I was wondering what kind of face paint you used for the Brobot cosplay. Is it metallic?
I actually use my troll facepaint. I did experiment with metallic facepaint but it was terrible and didn’t go on right. If you’d like to know the brand it’s krylon aqua color. I personally really like it and recommend it.
did Clark Gregg actually say he's a Homestuck fan / get things signed by Andrew, or was he just in the signing area? Either way, way cool that you met him :)
http://www.twitch.tv/shiftylook/b/433291156 is a link to the footage from Saturday. At 6:35:00 Clark Gregg “photo bombs” the signing, shaking hands with Hussie and doing his own signings. I had heard he had gotten something signed by Hussie, but as it turns out it was actually Bryan Lee O’Malley (creator of Scott Pilgrim) who jumped in line for Andrew Hussie’s signature. At 7:19:45 it is stated that Clark Gregg “is a fan of Homestuck”
